There is so much to learn and gain from each yoga posture and each practice, we don't want to limit your growth by doing the same class every time you come. WHAT IS YOGA?
If you think of people in seemingly impossible and weirdly twisted poses when you think of "Yoga", then you may have an inkling of what yoga is, just an inkling that's it. Yoga is much more than those poses. Derived from the Sankrit word "yuj" which means "to unite or integrate", yoga is a 5000 year old Indian body of knowledge. Yoga is all about harmonizing the body with the mind and breath through the means of various breathing techniques, yoga postures (asanas) and meditation.
There have been many misrepresentations of yoga, especially now that it has been commercialized in pop culture and demonized in many Social circles. These misconceptions are very common amongst those who don’t fully understand the practice. Yoga has seven additional limbs, with asana (poses) as only one — the most popular.

IS YOGA A WORK OUT?
Yoga is a whole body work out. No amount of lifting weights is going to make my arms as strong as holding up my own body weight in yoga. Also, practically everything you do in yoga is engaging your core, from core-centric poses to moving from pose to pose, using your core to stabilize your body. And in different inversions and arm balances, yoga allows you to raise your heartbeat, strengthen your muscles, and lengthen them out all at once.
It can count as cardio. All you have to do is try a few sun salutations or any flow at a good, steady pace, matching your breath to your movement. You can do Yoga anywhere. No equipment necessary, it doesn’t matter if you are at home, at your office, on the road. So long as you have the desire, you can strike a few poses. Yoga can be different every single day, if you want it to be. Want a challenge? Throw some arm balances and inversions into your practice. Need to focus? Try a few balance poses sequentially on the same foot. Or if you’re seeking relaxation, hang out in pigeon, a few seated forward folds, and a restorative backbend.
No injuries. In yoga, you learn to unite your body and mind. This allows you to move with ease and pay attention to how your body is feeling at all times, so you move in a way that feels good for you and not one that puts you in places your body doesn’t want to be. The result? An injury-free, strong, healthy, whole you.
I'M NOT FLEXIBLE, HOW CAN I DO YOGA?
It’s important to understand that Yoga is not about flexibility. This misconception keeps many people from coming to a Yoga class.
Yoga is about stretching your spine and body in all directions. From the very first class you will learn the concept of “trying the right way” enabling you to receive the benefits of each pose according to your own ability. You don't need to be physically flexible to do yoga! You only need to be mentally flexible and open to new possibilities. Just show up and focus on letting go, breathing, moving, and honoring where you are today. It is the very reason that yoga is referred to as a "Practice".

For all men out here, let’s be clear — yoga does not make you dainty or feminine. It makes you strong and durable. It provides you with a constant challenge to become a better form of yourself, day in and day out. It teaches you how to find comfort and contentment in some of the most uncomfortable situations.
These lessons stretch far beyond a body position — they transcend into life.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HOT YOGA?
The benefits you receive from a regular, devoted yoga practice will vary depending on who you are, your health history, what you put into your practice, and what you may be struggling with physically or mentally. The most frequently reporting benefits include the following:

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I PRACTICE?
Initially, there is great benefit to completing 10–15 classes in 30 days. This will give you a solid physical and intellectual base from which to catapult your growth. For optimal results in gaining energy, decreasing stress and building a strong, pain-free body, consistency is the key to success. A practice of 2-3 days per week, if consistent, will create transformation over time. For life-changing results practice 4-6 days per week
CAN I EAT BEFORE CLASS?
It’s best to practice on a mostly empty stomach. Avoid heavy meals 1-2 hours before class. Foods appropriate for pre-class snacking include fruit, yogurt, or light energy bars.
DO'S AND DONT'S TO EAT AND DRINK BEFORE AND AFTER CLASS
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A HEATED CLASS?
Try bending glass and it will shatter. Add heat and you can mold it into any desired shape. The human body responds to heat in much the same way. The heat is a natural way for your muscles to stretch and it also helps prevent injury. Not sure about the whole sweat thing? The act of sweating is incredibly detoxifying! We promise you’ll grow to love it! The amazing thing about heated power vinyasa yoga is that it will completely transform your whole body, mind and spirit. If you need to lose weight, you will! If you need to build muscle, you will! It all depends on what shift needs to take place in your body to bring it back to its most natural state. This system of yoga torches calories and awakens every cell in your body.
WHY THE “OM”?
Om is a mantra, or vibration, that is traditionally chanted at the beginning and end of yoga practices. It is said to be the sound of the universe. If that seems a little overwhelming, simple try chanting a-um and let the incredible power of sound and vibration work for you. Om will bring your mind to a singular (yet universal) focus. It may feel strange at first, but give it time and you may find yourself looking forward to those concluding meditative moments of harmonizing voices — not just because it signals an end to the torture (as practice seems on some days) but because it leaves us with a feeling of oneness.
WHAT IF I HAVE NEVER DONE ANY YOGA?
Many people find their first couple of yoga classes to be the most challenging. Often this is because it’s new and unfamiliar. You will find that you will learn the postures quickly and become familiar with what to expect. Come with no expectations, just a light heart, open mind, and a well-hydrated body. Most students feel amazingly detoxified. You might feel very tired after class. This is absolutely normal and a good sign that your body is cleansing. Your energy levels should be restored to normal within several classes. ou might find yourself feeling extremely energetic and experience difficulty sleeping. Don’t worry – this is a good sign that the yoga is truly filling you up with energy. You don’t have insomnia. You just have more time to do the things you enjoy. You might feel sore or stiff the day after your first class.
Come back to class as soon as possible! Your body is waking up and coming alive and you want to keep the process going!You might feel nauseous, dizzy or have a headache after class. This could be a sign that you are dehydrated. Please drink lots of water before returning to class. Or it could be a sign that you were trying so hard that you weren’t breathing normally. Please breathe normally during every posture. You might experience some skin irritation. This too is normal, it means that the skin is releasing toxins. Showering directly after class will wash the toxins away. It will also help normalize the body temperature.
You might feel very hungry after class for a while, or you might lose your appetite completely. Both reactions are normal. If you are concerned about your weight, don’t worry too much either way. Once you get into a regular practice pattern, your appetite and your weight will normalize. You’ll find yourself feeling and looking leaner and younger
All of the instructors at red-yoga are trained to modify each pose to every level. If you are a beginner or an expert you will be able to enjoy and participate in any of the Red-Yoga classes.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Wear fitted work-out apparel. Wear clothes that you feel comfortable sweating in, nothing too baggy, you may feel like you are coming undone in your down dog. Wear lightweight, breathable attire (like shorts, leggings, active-wear) dress lightly, and in synthetics whenever possible. 100% cotton will soak up sweat and become heavy.- no shoes or socks worn during class.(avoid loose fitting clothing).
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
.Bring a towel and a mat, and plenty of water, or use one of our mats at no extra charge.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR CLASS
DRINK PLENTY OF WATER BEFORE CLASS AND AFTER CLASS. BE ON TIME, AND DON’T LEAVE BEFORE THE CLASS IS COMPLETELY FINISHED.
